Meet Rachel
Growing up in a military family with a Marine Corps officer father and a public school teacher mother, I learned the importance of service and education early on. As a military brat, I experienced diverse communities and cultures.
In 2010, my husband and I chose Fairfax City as our home for its safe neighborhoods, excellent schools, and great location. Our family, which now includes two boys and a labrador retriever, has flourished here.
Professionally, I have a background in finance and accounting, holding an A.S. in Business Administration from Northern Virginia Community College and a B.S. in Marketing from George Mason University, where I was part of the Global Engagement Scholars Program.
I also run a dog training and pet care business and serve our community in various roles: as a City of Fairfax School Board Member, on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, a member of the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce, and with the Rotary Club of Fairfax. One of my proudest achievements is leading the Fairfax Rotary Dictionary Project, providing free dictionaries to all 3rd graders in Fairfax City.
Motivated by my love for Fairfax City, I am running for City Council to bring thoughtful leadership and collaboration. My goals include improving community outreach, enhancing education, preserving the environment, and strengthening public safety.
My vision for Fairfax City focuses on excellence in education, environmental conservation, and safety. With my diverse background and commitment to public service, I aim to create a prosperous, inclusive, and secure community for all. I'm dedicated to listening, learning, and leading with compassion, and I look forward to working together with residents to build and maintain the Fairfax City we all deserve.
